How to visualize phenomena for which no actual images exist?
How to facilitate access to testimonies that remain hidden, unspoken, invisible?
Who are the Bodies in Between? embarked on a journey of dialogue and encounter, exploring gender-specific taboo topics and discussions surrounding boundary violations. This endeavor led me to delve into both archival processing of the past and reflections on present-day dialogues, particularly concerning forms of gender discrimination like sexualized boundary violations.
Through five collage images, I aimed to capture the essence of our discussions, portraying the atmosphere and dynamics that exist between us. Each character embodies the 'in between' spaces of our conversation, going beyond mere depictions of myself or my interlocutor.
In portraying the figures as androgynous and non-binary, I aimed to challenge conventional gender norms as I did within the conversation itself. Their exaggerated features and surreal proportions serve as a canvas upon which the complexities of our conversations unfold. Instead of portraying real bodies, my intention is to create images that capture experiences surpassing physical representation.

The collages' backgrounds are a tapestry of history, woven from old paintings, newspaper clippings, and vinyl record covers adorned with layers of acrylic colors. These materials serve as poignant reminders of a personal journey, where the topics of our dialogues were once woven into the fabric of my own life.
